We're Redundant?

Yes, but that's a good thing!
Web Marietta has setup a redundant, Fail-Over website infrastructure to insure our main website actually maintains virtually a 100% uptime like the larger web enterprises. We've done this not just to keep our site always available, but to serve as a model for our clients that may be interested in this service on a smaller and more low cost scale.
The concept is pretty straight forward. We're using "Fail-Over DNS" service from our preferred DNS provider, DNS Made Easy. This centralized service monitors our main site on our server for a heart beat of sorts. If the service cannot "see" our main website it starts sending all internet requests to a secondary mirror website we have hosted on the Postshadow.com platform. Then when our primary website is back online, traffic is directed back.
This is a small business solution with uptime, automation, and budget carefully balanced. The two sites are not automatically synchronized; when you update one site, you must update or reload the second site as well. Though this is a small concession, this economical small scale Fail-Over solution, still provides the main objective and benefit. Your website is available continuously. All of this is available with just two separate hosting accounts and a fail-over dns service.
